Call for Abstracts

Abstract Submission

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The International Organizing Committee cordially invites delegates to submit their best work for consideration and inclusion following peer review in the Conference Program

Please review the following guidelines carefully before abstract submission:

  1. The first (presenting author) may submit only one abstract as first author per submission type, e.g. one in the Professional Paper Category and another in the Professional Paper Phenocopies Category.
  2. The maximum number of characters including spaces allowed is 4000 including the title, authors, institution and abstract
  3. The abstract must have the following sequence – Introduction, Methods & Materials, Results, and Conclusion
  4. Authors should be listed by first name followed by family name.  Do not include titles or degrees
  5. Abstracts must  be submitted electronically
  6. The abstract will be reproduced as submitted in the Abstract Book and therefore a disorganized or otherwise unclear abstract will not be included in the Program
  7. Please prepare and submit the abstract as follows:
    1. Title in capital letters – To be entered in the Title Field
    2. Presenting Author – To be entered in the Presenting Author Field
    3. Presenting Author’s Institution(s), Telephone and Facsimile Contact Numbers including international dialing codes, and Email Address – To be enter int he Field Provided.
    4. Author(s) – List all author(s) in the Author Field including the presenting person
  8. The abstract must be submitted via the Conference website, however, for questions or if experiencing problems with submission please e-mail Elizabeth Utsch at utsch@email.chop.edu or Swati Patel at genetics@email.chop.edu
  9. The firm Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts is February 22, 2012
  10. Authors will be notified regarding the status of their abstracts on or before March 22, 2012
  11. Please note that all presentations must have Institutional Ethical Approval upon submission

EXAMPLE ABSTRACT

TITLE

Presenting Author, Additional Author(s).  Institution(s), Presenting Author’s address, telephone number, fax number, and email address

Introduction: Background. Methods: Details regarding subjects, materials, techniques, data analysis, etc.  Results: Findings. Conclusion: Significance of findings.

ABSTRACT THEMES / TOPICS 

Delegates must indicate the category for which they are submitting an abstract:

  •  Professional Paper Clinical – Subspecialty Topics (e.g., clinical genetics, cardiology, feeding abnormalities, etc.) and Treatment Modalities
  •  Professional Paper Basic Science – Results of Laboratory Bench Work
  •  Professional Paper Brain Behavior and Imaging – Results of Neurocognitive/Imaging Studies
  •  Professional Paper Education
  •  Professional Paper – 22q11.2 Duplications
  •  Professional Paper – Atypical/Nested Deletions, TBX1 Mutations, Other mutations within the 22q11.2 region
  •  Professional Paper – Phenocopies
  •  Professional Paper – Case Report
  •  Lay Presentation Clinical
  •  Lay Presentation Educational/Psycho-Social
